A charming and colourful pastel by Peter Wishart, an interesting and forward looking artist. He lived and worked in Edinburgh painting landscapes and seascapes in oil, watercolour and pastel in a broad style which was influenced by the later work of McTaggart. He captured the effect of a windy day on the coast or a storm in the mountains, using rich colours and broad brushstrokes which have Expressionist tendencies.
