An excellent c1880’s Oil on canvas by the well listed artist William Raymond Dommersen
Title – Rome with Castle Sant Angelo
Medium – Oil on Canvas signed at bottom right.
Size – 70 x 108 Frame
The painting is in good original condition and could probably do with a light clean.
William Raymond Dommersen came from a famous family of Dutch artists who moved to England in the 1860’s and changed the family name from Dommershuizen. He was the son of Peter Cornelis Dommersen and travelled around Europe and England painting marine and town scenes. His works are still very popular and many have been reproduced in print, his originals, not surprisingly, are very much sought after.
