Superb oil, in excellent condition by the well known British artist Paul H Ellis who was active from the late 19th through to the early 20th century.  The painting is signed at bottom left and retains the original artists label on the reverse. It is presented in a very good period Gilt frame and is ready to hang.

 Paul H Ellis was a Birmingham artist who exhibited works at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Institute and in many other locations. Well known for his view of the Near and Middle East.

Al-Sayeda Zainab Mosque is a historic mosque in Cairo, Egypt, and constitutes one of the most important and biggest mosques in the history of Egypt

The  Mosque and Mausoleum is located in the Sayeda Zainab neighborhood in Cairo, where the neighborhood took its name from the owner of the shrine located inside the mosque, and it is in the middle of the neighborhood and the square opposite the mosque is also known as Sayeda Zainab Square.
