Superb oil, in excellent condition by the celebrated French artist Jacqueline Gougis. The painting is signed  bottom right and again on the reverse..

Jacqueline Gougis was born in Dijon, France in 1926. At the age of 18 she showed at the Winter Exhibition in Paris. Since then, she has exhibited in France and the larger French towns and villages as well as abroad. She is especially influenced by the painting of Claude Monet. She chose to open her studio in Giverny France (the home of Monet's famous gardens) in 1986 and has since chosen to settle there. She is considered to be part of the impressionist revival movement in France. Jacqueline focuses on a feeling of freshness and profusion in her wonderful paintings.

EXHIBITIONS : Paris : Jacquesther Gallery, Caro Gallery, The Obsidienne avenue Matignon, René Drouet Faubourg Saint-Honoré and since 1988 at Castiglione Art Gallery. 1991 Exhibitions: "Le Temps de Proust" and at The Bank of Tokyo in Paris.

Abroad : In Spain, Luxembourg, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, in Japan where she won Osaka Watercolours first prize, in the United States in Dallas and Atlanta, in Australia, in New-Caledonia, in Guadeloupe, and in Florence in 1989.

Some of her paintings have been purchased by the Royal Court of Sweden, the Department of Health of Stockholm, by the Court of Saudi Arabia, etc.. Tapestries in Aubusson (Creuse).
