Mario Ponti Interested in the visual arts since he was a boy, Mario Ponti was able to cultivate his passion. for work needs, only later, enrolling in the evening courses of the Civic School of Painting of Pavia where he learned the notions of drawing from Maestro E. Carboni. Subsequently, he attended the studio of the painter M. Angelini (a pupil of Borgognoni), from whom he assimilated the technique and sensitivity for color. His favorite subjects are: flowers, still lifes, but above all landscapes; love for nature allows him to immediately note the different aspects of the countryside, to sensitively grasp the passage of the seasons, using a palette of soft tones ready to light up and strengthen in the contrasts between light and shadow. His painting is pleasant, clean, realistic, accurate in design and tasteful in the combination of colors; the search for brightness is constant. The predilection for the sober and simple life, which finds correspondence in the author's character, is confirmed in the choice of views, in the spontaneity of the landscapes that he carefully observes from life.
