This is a fantastic 18th century rendering of  Raphael's Madonna Colonna which was originally painted in c1508. The quality of the painting on this image is exceptional.

 The original painting, completed around 1508, depicts the Virgin Mary holding a book in her left hand while supporting the Christ Child with her right arm. 

The original painting is currently housed in the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin, Germany. 

The painting has got an old reline (approx 60 yrs ago) and is housed in an early 20th century carved frame.
