This is an interesting Colonial School oil on panel of the interior of a pharmacy or chemist, it dates from the middle of the 19th century and features a family and two soldiers (possibly from an Indian regiment) being tended by a Doctor or Pharmacist.
The painting is signed at bottom right "E Muller" unfortunately we have not been able to identify the artist from the hundreds of 19th century artists with the surname Muller out there.
The painting is presented in a modern but good quality frame.
The painting does have some condition problems, there are some small areas of overpainting and the painting could do with some TLC, this being said this is a rare example of a Colonial 19th century Chemist of Pharmacy scene.
