This is a very rare early 20th century view of a couple travelling in the Desert around Basra Iraq by J Milner, not much is known about the artist although a painting Titled 'River Scene, Basra' sold at Bonhams in Dec 2012 Travel and exploration sale Lot 120 for £1125 including premium. We have not come across much more of his work although this is one of 3 paintings of Iraq that we are listing today.

The painting is housed in what appears to be its original wood frame.

Condition, the painting is in good condition but could do with a clean (see images)
