This is an original still life oil painting by George Weissbort 1928-2013, the painting is signed and dated (1957) at bottom right.

Condition is very good, although it could do with a clean.

George Weissbort was a Belgian-born painter who moved to England in 1933. He studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts and the Royal College of Art, influenced by Arthur Segal to transition from Abstract Expressionism to realism. Weissbort exhibited regularly at prestigious venues such as the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. His work is known for its technical mastery and celebration of life and art.
