Painter and etcher. Protégé of Danneskiold-Samsøe, the Duke of Augustenborg. Possibly pupil of Peder Als and Johannes Mandelberg at The Danish Royal Academy of Fine Arts.

A large original nineteenth century oil painting by the well listed artist, Christian Lorentzen 1746-1828.The painting depicts a portrait of an older Gentleman, seated and pointing towards the open window, showing a beautiful view. Signed and dated 1812 to the lower middle. Presented in a decent gilt frame. 

There is wear and craquelure, including a small scuff to the lower middle, with general surface loss. Edges where canvas meets frame are scuffed and there is a small surface hole to the sitters nose. A highly decorative 19th century piece by a decent artist, ready to hang.
